I became a patient less than a year ago and was relieved to have found the perfect doctor from the very first visit. Depression is a medical condition that affects mood, energy, motivation, sleep and concentration. Left untreated, it can interfere with work, relationships and overall health.Common signs of depression include persistent low mood, loss of interest in daily activities, changes in appetite or sleep, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, feelings of worthlessness, and in severe cases, thoughts of self-harm. If you recognize these signs in yourself or someone you love, reaching out for professional help is the most important step you can take
Accurate Depression diagnosis is important: Effective treatment starts with correct diagnosis.
A thorough diagnostic evaluation is performed to identify the specific type of depression you are experiencing and to rule out Bipolar Spectrum disorders- as these are treated differently. At Medivira, we use evidence-based, first-line treatments.
Depression treatment is not a one-appointment process- we provide continuous monitoring across your first appointment, follow-up visit and your long-term maintenance visits — because lasting relief comes from consistent, personalised care, not a one-size-fits-all prescription.
Most patients begin to feel improvement within 2 to 6 weeks of starting the right medication. Medivira provides medication management only — not therapy. If therapy is neede ,you will be referred to our trusted Therapists
"SSRIs are a proven, evidence-based first-line treatment for Major Depressive Disorder, with clinical trials supporting both their effectiveness and the importance of consistent, physician-managed medication."¹
Do a visit with the Doctor who will do a thorough mental exam, screen you for depression. If appropriate an anti depressant prescription will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice. Visit time is 45 minutes.
At the end of your first visit the doctor will tell you when to follow up for subsequent Medication Refills. These can be office or Tele visits only and you don’t need to see the doctor in person. Visit time is 20 minutes.
After the first 1-2 times you can do Tele visits once every 3 months. Doctor will monitor your progress, give feedback, address any medication side effects or adjust medication dosages. Visit time 15 minutes

What are the signs I need to see a doctor for depression?
If you've been feeling persistently sad, empty, or hopeless for more than two weeks — or you've lost interest in activities you used to enjoy — it's time to speak with a medical professional. Other signs include changes in sleep or appetite, difficulty concentrating, low energy, and feelings of worthlessness.
What is the difference between feeling sad and clinical depression? Clinical depression is a persistent condition lasting two weeks or more that significantly interferes with your ability to work, maintain relationships, or carry out daily activities and unlike ordinary sadness requires professional treatment
Is depression curable? Depression is highly treatable and many patients experience full remission of symptoms with the right treatment plan —such as medication management, therapy or both
Can depression be related to substance use? Yes. Depression and substance use disorders are closely linked. Many people use alcohol or drugs to cope with depressive symptoms, which can worsen both conditions over time.
Can postpartum depression be treated with medication? Yes. Postpartum depression responds well to medication management. It goes far beyond the "baby blues" and should not be left untreated. At Medivira, we provide compassionate, non-judgmental care for mothers in Frisco and Collin County experiencing postpartum depression, with telehealth options available for added convenience
How is depression treated without therapy — is medication alone enough? For many patients, medication alone is highly effective as a primary treatment for depression, especially when combined with lifestyle changes such as regular exercise, improved sleep, social & family support
What if I have questions after the visit is over Or after office hours?
At Medivira we provide 24/7 text message support. For any questions or concerns you may have after the visit or after office hours
What areas and counties in Dallas do you serve?

Can I get depression treatment online in Texas? Absolutely. Medivira offers secure telehealth appointments for depression treatment across all of Texas, available seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Virtual visits are ideal for patients who prefer privacy, have busy schedules, or cannot easily travel to our Frisco clinic. The quality of care is identical to an in-person visit.
Can depression and anxiety be treated at the same time? Yes — and treating both together is actually the most effective approach. Nearly half of people with depression also experience significant anxiety. At Medivira, our providers are experienced in creating integrated medication management plans that address both conditions simultaneously, rather than treating them separately.
How quickly can I get a depression appointment at Medivira in Frisco, TX?
