Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, alongside counseling and behavioral therapies, to treat substance use disorders. MAT is not a standalone treatment, it provides a “whole-patient” approach to treat addiction to opioids such as heroin or prescription pain relievers
Research shows that Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine significantly reduces opioid-related mortality and improves long-term recovery outcomes.¹ ² Studies published in peer-reviewed journals have demonstrated up to a 50–70% reduction in overdose death risk among patients receiving medication treatment compared to no treatment ¹ ²
Medivira provides monthly Sublocade® injections for patients who are already stable on Suboxone and ready for a simplified treatment plan without the stress of taking medication daily
Mental health conditions often coexist with Addiction and often drive drug-seeking behaviors
By treating both substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions ( DUAL DIAGNOSIS) we aim to support sustainable recovery — not just short-term symptom control.
Medivira provides integrated medication management for these Mental Health Conditions

I became a patient less than a year ago and was relieved to have found the perfect doctor from the very first visit. Dr. Jafar provides old-fashioned personal care with new-fashioned expertise, rare in today's medical environment. She is very intelligent, a very good doctor, and a very nice person. Her office manager and assistant complement Dr. Jafar perfectly, combining efficiency with grace and humanity. One could not ask for a better experience.
Dr. Jafar is an amazing woman. I swear she has saved my life!! I walked in her office desperate for help to change my life and I walked in the right door. With addiction having a huge stigma in society it is difficult to find a place to go where you will not be judged n treated with compassion n respect. She takes her time to listen to your needs and her care plan has given me my life back Thankyou Dr. Jafar and your staff for your excellent professional care n understanding. I am so grateful and blessed to be your patient and have found a new healthy way to live!!!

Counseling is not automatically required for every patient. Treatment plans are individualized and based on medical assessment, patient stability, and clinical needs. While counseling and behavioral support can be beneficial for many individuals, some patients may be appropriately managed with physician-supervised Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) alone when clinically appropriate
